Policy Advocacy

Shaping the ecosystem

From time to time, we step into the policy conversations that shape how the diaspora connects with Mauritius. These are select interventions, chosen because they build the ecosystem we are working toward: one where talent and ideas move freely between the diaspora and the island.

National policy input

We supported the International Organization for Migration in shaping Mauritius's first National Diaspora Policy, connecting 57 diaspora members to the consultations and contributing as key informants.

Diaspora enfranchisement

We submitted a formal electoral reform proposal to the Prime Minister's Office, advocating for a dedicated constituency for overseas voters, and spoke up for the diaspora on national television during the electoral reform debate.
